Did You Know Amazon.com Supports The Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization?

Published by Justin Farnham on

The Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization is always looking for easy and unique ways to promote our mission. One of the ways we do that is by partnering with other companies to raise awareness and financial support for our organization.

We are thrilled to partner with Amazon.com and the AmazonSmile Foundation as a way to raise financial support for our organization and provide scholarships to young women in Connecticut.

What is AmazonSmile?

AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on Amazon.com. The difference is that when customers shop on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charitable organizations selected by customers.

What is the AmazonSmile Foundation?

The AmazonSmile Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation created by Amazon to administer the AmazonSmile program. All donation amounts generated by the AmazonSmile program are remitted to the AmazonSmile Foundation. In turn, the AmazonSmile Foundation donates those amounts to the charitable organizations selected by our customers. Amazon pays all expenses of the AmazonSmile Foundation; they are not deducted from the donation amounts generated by purchases on AmazonSmile.

How does AmazonSmile work?

When first visiting AmazonSmile, customers are prompted to select a charitable organization from over one million eligible organizations. In order to browse or shop at AmazonSmile, customers must first select a charitable organization. For eligible purchases at AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to the customer’s selected charitable organization.

Fun Fact: Every purchase the organization makes through Amazon is via smile.amazon.com. We want to make every dollar raised and spent count.
