What was your first thought when you were crowned Miss Farmingbury’s Outstanding Teen?

“Miss Connecticut here I come, I hope the 3rd time’s a charm!” Being crowned by Morgan was a very special moment for me, and it was even sweeter to be a part of the 50th Anniversary Miss Wolcott Competition. Through the years I have noticed the support the Wolcott Community has given to its representatives and I am proud to be a “Wolcott Girl”.

What do you hope to accomplish as Miss Farmingbury’s Outstanding Teen?

My mission in life is to make someone smile each and every day, I love spreading positivity. I believe there is power behind making connections with people. By being a titleholder in the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Organization each year already is a learning experience but this year I was determined to share my passion and take others on this journey with me through exciting social media updates and simply having face to face conversations. By continuing to enrich lives through my education and movement programs with my platform “Get Into Action” Happy Mind, Healthy Body. I have had the opportunity to speak to many audiences this year sharing the importance of physical activity and exercise. I am happy that I had the chance to create and develop a platform that I can share but for me this is a lifestyle. #GetIntoAction

To you, why is Miss America still relevant?

For sure…. Miss America is relevant. She is courageous, passionate, empowered, a leader and servant. She represents that women have no limits – empowering women is always relevant!

What has been your favorite appearance thus far as Miss Farmingbury’s Outstanding Teen?

While raising funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and supporting my personal platform “Get Into Action” Happy Mind, Healthy Body, I hosted a Lights, Camera “Get Into Action” Talent Show – For The Kids. It was a night full of talent, support and raising awareness for such a great cause.

What is your favorite quote?

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them” – Walt Disney

Fun fact:

Often told I resemble Topanga Matthews from Boy Meets World. Which is also one of my favorite TV shows!

Who would you like to thank for helping you get to this point?

For sure….My mother and father! If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be where I am today. They have shaped me into the women I am. They have always told me that being you is the most powerful tool we have. I proudly share this statement with others also because I truly believe in this. I would like to take this opportunity and truly thank them for being who they are, I look up to you both and aspire what you do. In a world with such negativity, people like you brighten this society. Thank you for being my biggest supporters and ( best blow horn player in the audience…dad). Shoutout to my brother also for always having my back. Love you Iwanec Family!
