What was your first thought when you were crowned Miss Southington’s Outstanding Teen?
When I was crowned Miss Southington’s Outstanding Teen, my first thought was NO WAY! I could not hold back the excitement! For a long time, I wanted to represent my hometown and now I finally had the opportunity to give back to the community that has given so much to my family and I. I could not wait to start going to appearances!
What do you hope to accomplish as Miss Southington’s Outstanding Teen?
One thing I would like to accomplish as Miss Southington’s Outstanding Teen is to really promote my platform of “Strong Women- Strong Future”, promoting young female empowerment. Girls have the ability to be so strong and the leaders of America and I want to help them get there and be the best versions of themselves!
To you, why is Miss America still relevant?
Miss America is still relevant to me because it shows how strong girls are. This organization gives us an opportunity to utilize our voices and express our opinion. It helps girls gain confidence in talking to others and within themselves. This organization has led girls to multiple opportunities and continues to do so to this date.
What has been your favorite appearance thus far as Miss Southington’s Outstanding Teen?
My favorite appearance as Miss Southington’s Outstanding Teen thus far is the Fox-a-Thon dance marathon a local Southington Elementary School put on. This marathon was partnered with our national partnership Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. To see, how just a little school could raise over $4,000 for an incredible cause was truly amazing! And of course dancing with all the kiddos was the best cherry on top!
What is your favorite quote?
“Be a girl with a mind, a woman with attitude, and a lady with class.”
I have 25 1st cousins!
Who would you like to thank for helping you get to this point?
I would love to thank my parents and brother for all the endless love and support with everything I do from driving me to all my events to making sure I look up to par. I would also like to thank the rest of my family and friends for being the best cheering section in the world. And of course to my Miss Nutmeg Scholarship Organization Family, thank you for working with me these past two years to make sure I put my best foot forward in everything I do!
